The program focuses on developing sustainable consumption behaviors and creating community-based solutions.<br>Initially, volunteer undergraduate and associate degree students will receive zero waste training. The program encourages volunteering practices and establishes a mentor-mentee relationship, training participants to become educators in various zero waste categories to ensure the continuity of awareness and behavioral change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Objectives of the Zero Waste Training Program<\/strong><br>Participants will:<br>\u2022 Understand the environmental, social, and economic impacts of waste<br>\u2022 Develop awareness of resource efficiency and sustainable consumption<br>\u2022 Acquire practical zero waste habits<br>\u2022 Increase capacity for community-based solutions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Expected Outcomes<\/strong><br>Upon completion of the program, participants are expected to:<br>\u2022 Reduce waste in daily life<br>\u2022 Maintain recycling habits<br>\u2022 Serve as role models for family and friends<br>\u2022 Actively participate in community projects<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Five Steps for Success in Zero Waste Training<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Awareness: Understand the problem<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge: Learn solutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation: Ensure everyone is involved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Action: Apply solutions in daily life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainability: Make behavioral changes permanent<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Training Methods<\/strong><br>\u2022 Participant-Centered Learning<br>\u2022 Experiential Learning<br>\u2022 Visual and Practical Materials<br>\u2022 Local Examples and Case Studies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Training Sessions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preparation Phase<br>\u2022 Identify target audience (students, teachers, municipal staff, etc.)<br>\u2022 Select training location, duration, and tools<br>\u2022 Prepare training materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementation Phase<br>\u2022 Assess participants\u2019 prior knowledge<br>\u2022 Conduct interactive activities, games, discussions, and practical exercises<br>\u2022 Collect feedback<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluation Phase<br>\u2022 Measure participants\u2019 learning levels<br>\u2022 Monitor post-training behavioral changes<br>\u2022 Share successful examples<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sample Activities<\/strong><br>\u2022 Daily Waste Analysis: Raise awareness of personal consumption habits<br>\u2022 Zero Waste Competition: Encourage hands-on learning<br>\u2022 Waste-to-Art Workshop: Boost creativity and promote reuse<br>\u2022 Composting Workshop: Teach organic waste recycling<br>\u2022 Zero Waste Map: Raise local resource awareness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Materials and Tools<\/strong><br>\u2022 Training cards made from recycled materials<br>\u2022 Zero waste posters and brochures<br>\u2022 Video presentations and short documentaries<br>\u2022 Compost bins and sample sorting containers<br>\u2022 Role-playing or drama cards<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Evaluation and Feedback<\/em><br>Feedback will be collected from participants to:<br>\u2022 Identify program strengths<br>\u2022 Determine areas for improvement<br>\u2022 Track behavioral changes<br>Evaluation Tools:<br>\u2022 Surveys<br>\u2022 Group discussions<br>\u2022 Short written tests or creative exercises<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Program Duration<\/strong><br>Total: 32 hours<br>\u2022 8 Modules \u00d7 4 hours each<br>\u2022 Each module: 2 hours theoretical + 2 hours practical\/discussion\/workshop<br><span style=\"color: #cf2e2e;\" class=\"stk-highlight\"><strong>This program is FREE for our students.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Education is the heart of zero waste; because change begins with knowledge.&#8221; The Zero Waste Training Program aims to strengthen zero waste initiatives at Istanbul Ayd\u0131n University through a collaboration between AKEV, the Sustainability Coordination Office, and the Sustainability Board.
