Program Objective:
The aim of the program is to learn Ottoman Turkish with simple explanations, focusing on grammar rules and the Arabic and Persian elements within Ottoman Turkish. Participants will learn both printed and handwritten (Rik’a) scripts through an intensive reading program. Sample texts are taken from various official documents produced in the Ottoman archives for different purposes.
Program Goal:
At the end of the accelerated program, candidates will be able to read handwritten Ottoman Turkish texts at an intermediate level, supported by intensive reading exercises and assignments.
Total Lessons and Hours: 12 lessons / 36 hours
Weekly Schedule: 2 days per week / 6 hours per week
Participation Method: In-person (Istanbul Aydın University, Florya Campus)
